QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED.
- Experience working with school-aged students with a wide-range of backgrounds and needs required.
- Experience working with special education and high needs students preferred.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director and Special Services Director
JOB GOAL: Assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school and related functions.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the safe transportation of students of all ages to and from school and extra-curricular activities.
- Manage student behavior and maintain discipline on the bus.
- Maintain the confidentiality of students discipline and medical records.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate positively and constructively to parents, students, administration and others.
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and district administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Board approved academic calendar + 1 additional staff training day.
EVALUATION: Each employee will be evaluated by his/her supervisor(s) on a regular basis according to evaluation procedures established by the Board of Education. Evaluations will be based on general expectations for all employees, and the specific responsibilities of the position being evaluated.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Additionally, the employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 25 lbs. as necessary for the safety and well-being of others. Lastly, this job requires the employee to have the vision ability to read handwritten or typed materials, and meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.
